Hello, my name is Shannon. I will have 3 years clean June 6, 2014. That is all due to the program and having the capability to be willing, open minded and follow suggestions.
I felt a genuine care from my therapist and continued cognitive therapy with him for a year and a half once I was released from the treatment center. He was always available by phone through crisis and he was the one there through my breaking point of using. I had a complete nervous breakdown in his office and he stayed and talked me through it with life long lifting conversation that I still hold dear to my heart. I have not used since that day!
I am currently enrolled in college to pursue my career in psychology to help others struggling with the dark burdens and challenges of addiction recovery. The program offered me life through experience, strength and hope. I have a strong support network. I have dreams, goals and values today. I am a woman with integrity and am strong in my sobriety. The sky is the limit for me and I am very excited to see where God takes me on this journey.
